Smriti Gupta a NID, Ahmedabad textile design graduate, is the founder and the design lead of the firm.

At Smriti Gupta, we focus on creating “Indian Luxury” apparel and products at affordable prices by using handwoven and handcrafted techniques. Smriti Gupta is an exclusive fashion brand that relies on the principle of sustainability.

Our vision is to create affordable and exclusive designer wear apparel and home products, using handwoven and handcrafted techniques, while being socially conscious. Our business model is designed around empowering the handloom and the crafts community.

About the founder

Smriti Gupta is the founder and the design lead of the firm. She is a designer and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in textile and apparel design. She is a visionary product developer with in-depth technical knowledge of textile and apparel manufacturing. Sensitive to the craft and handloom industry of India, Smriti works with a vision to empower the associated handloom sectors. Smriti’s designs have been featured in design books by Robert Sitley Adler and her apparels have been featured in Vogue India.

In December 2008, Smriti launched her own venture, Smriti Gupta, after recognizing a need in the market for Indian luxury apparel at affordable prices. Keeping the vision of the company in mind, her biggest challenge has been to monitor the cost-effectiveness of operations and personnel to maximize productivity and returns. She is actively involved in designing and developing products that target the current market trends and requirements. Additionally, she coordinates and approves budgets for product development, while managing overheads and marketing.

Over the years, in the process of growing the company, Smriti has gained extensive and hands-on experience in all aspects of business formation, operations, finance, and management. Her biggest strength is her problem-solving skill using creativity, resourcefulness, and assets to break down and overcome any organizational obstacles.
